Biography
Kim Nina Gromoll is a multidisciplinary artist born in 1994 in Cologne, Germany. Since 2013 she has lived in Maastricht, a picturesque small town in the south of the Netherlands. Kim was nominated for several art awards of which she has won The Henriette Hustinx Prize in the Netherlands and the Rea Art Prize in Italy. Besides that she has received recognition through the young artist grant of Mondriaan Fund and participated in multiple exhibitions across Europe as well as art fairs such as ART Rotterdam and Rea Art Fair in Milan.
The main theme within her artistic practice is to get acquainted with nature and the source of being on a deeper, less material level. She is inspired by the natural cycles of earth, biochemical processes, quantum physics, metaphysics, and behavioral patterns in our global society. Through various personal experiences that could be categorized as paranor-mal, Kim continues to expand her sense of being and processes her encounters and the constant incoming flow of information through symbolic painting, drawing, and poetic writing. By expressing herself through these mediums, Kim is able to navigate herself on this apparent edge of insanity.
